Fred is an ordinary guy. He grew up in the burbs with his siblings in the 50s and 60s. They all went to Catholic schools. When he was in high school, Fred met Ann, who lived right around the corner from Fred. They got married while Fred was in college.  After Fred graduated from college, Fred and Ann had their first child. Soon thereafter, Fred got his draft notice and spent two years in the Army. Soon after the Army, Fred and Ann's second child was born. Seven years later, their third child. Two years after that, their fourth. Fred and Ann's family was complete. Fred worked. In three months we've paid Labcorp alone nearly a thousand dollars. Medicare paid next to nothing. Our UnitedHealth/AARP supplemental health insurance paid ZERO . Then there's prescriptions, whopping increases in  UnitedHealth/AARP supplemental health  insurance premium payments (the GALL !), etc. The cost of medical care in the US is OUTRAGEOUS ! Of course, I'll keep paying for Jenny's medical expenses--until my last dime. This year we'll be celebrating our 59th wedding anniversary.  I just wonder how soon we'll be spending our last dime. 😠

Walmart Pharmacy

My wife's neurologist ordered this prescription: "Rivastigmine Transdermal System (24 hour patch) each system delivers 4.6 mg/24 hours Rx only Cash (List Price): $479.85 Patient Pay (including discount card, e.g. Good Rx, etc.): $71.27 "  WOW!   I'm speechless. We give Walmart Pharmacy a 5 out of 5. There's one small glitch however.  A few days before the monthly prescription ran out, we received a text message from Walmart. "Do you want us to refill your prescription?" YES "Do you want us to refill your prescription automatically each month?" YES "We will text message you when your prescription is ready to be picked up." That didn't happen. I checked Walmart Pharmacy's website. It showed that the prescription was ready for pickup. I mentioned this to Walmart's clerk when I picked up the prescription. She said that they were having to call people 7 days after their prescriptions were filled to come pick up their prescripti...
